Ella Sophie Stuyverson was born 19 Dec 1854 in Erie County, Pennsylvania, and died 26 Sep 1931 in Rushmore, Nobles, Minnesota, USA.  She married John William Royer 06 Mar 1880 in Spring Valley, Minnesota, son of Mathias Royer and Margaret Tittsler.  He was born 21 Mar 1854 in New Castle, Erie Co, Pennsylvania, and died 05 Oct 1930 in Rushmore, Nobles, Minnesota.

Ella Sophie Stuyverson, daughter of Celina and Christian Stuyverson was born December 19, 1854 in Erie County Pennsylvania.  When a girl she attended school at Clymer, N. Y.. In the year 1872 at the
age of 18 she came to Franklin County, Iowa and lived with a cousin for eight years.

On March 6, 1880 she was united in marriage to John William Royer, at Spring Valley, Minnesota. They resided in Franklin County for 20 years. In spring of 1901, they moved on a farm near Rushmore living there until the spring of 1921 when they moved to Rushmore, where they made their home since.

Mrs. Royer passed away on her brother George’s birthday Sept. 26 at the age of 76 years, 9 months, 7 days.  She leaves to mourn, her six children; Lee, Walter and Maye at home, Bert on a farm near Rushmore, Claude at Lecomb, Oregon, (Lulu) Mrs. Hubert Tschirgi at New Plymouth, Idaho. Also 17 grandchildren and numerous friends in and about Rushmore. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the First Presbyterian church conducted by Rev. W. F. Heyer. Interment at SunSet Rest Cemetery. Pall Bearers were, Messrs. H. M. Rider, J. M. Mitchell, Charles Schroeder, George Greig, Charles Brinkouse of Rushmore and Mr P. R. Long of Redding.
